The roles of these grades vary between directorate but the overall description of the roles are as follows:Senior Civil Servants—head Divisions and Directorates across the Department.Grade A/AU—they are the first level of senior management and are accountable for delivering specific parts of the departmental plan.Grade B/HEOD—carry out a wide range of tasks in support to support the Department's policy and sponsorship objectives.Grade C—first management level and will generally be responsible for providing a range of management support to senior officers and colleagues.Grade D—carry out a range of work to support the functional areas of DCMS.
