§ Norman Lamb
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how much revenue has been lost by train operating companies in each of the past five years as a result of(a) no staff being available to collect fares on services and (b) staff being unable to proceed along trains owing to overcrowding.
§ Mr. Jamieson
None. Revenue protection is a matter for the train operating companies. It is in their commercial interest to ensure that passengers travel with valid tickets.
