§ Baroness Noakes
asked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether agreed local implementation strategies for information management and technology exist for all health authorities; and how and by which organisations those strategies will be taken forward once health authorities are replaced by strategic health authorities and their functions are delegated to primary care trusts. [HL1553]
§ Lord Hunt of Kings Heath
Local implementation strategies (LIS) exist for all local health communities for information management and technology and are based around the boundaries of current health authorities. Strategic health authorities will have the responsibility for ensuring that all National Health112WA Service trusts and primary care trusts continue to cooperate with each other across their health communities to plan the implementation of integrated information systems. It is expected that most current LIS groups will continue within the context of strategic health authorities, although some re-configuration is possible as new NHS organisations come into being during 2002–03.
