There are eleven Indonesian army officers currently attending training courses at Ministry of Defence establishments in the UK. One is at the Joint 103W Services Command and Staff College at Bracknell, and a further ten are at the Royal Military College of Science at Shrivenham.
Details of Indonesian army officers attending non-military UK educational institutions are not a matter for my Department. However, based on the information available to us, we understand that there are a further 18 army officers being taught at non-military educational institutions in the UK. Information on the location of those establishments has been withheld under Exemption 4 of the Code of Practice on Access to Government Information. These students are part of a programme of university training in international relations, defence management, international law and human rights, and the programme is being provided on a private and commercial basis.
we do not have records of which units Indonesian army officers have come from before attending course in the UK.
