To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many employees of London Transport have been subject to assaults whilst on duty in each of the last five years, and in 1994 to the latest available date; how many of these were working on(a) London Buses and (b) London Underground at the time of the assault; and in how many cases the assaults were recorded as being racially motivated.122W

The figures for London Buses cover all assaults on staff; those for London Underground include only criminal assaults—those involving injury and likely to lead to consideration of a prosecution.
London Transport does not keep records of the number of assaults that may have been racially motivated.
