To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many paramedics are employed by the London ambulance service; and how many have been transferred to work in stations in(a) south-east London and (b) Lewisham.

The London ambulance service currently employs around 400 paramedics. It plans to train more than 750 further paramedics by the end of 1996.68W
