To ask the Attorney-General, pursuant to his answer of 17 December,Official Report, column 1051, how many cases of alleged incitement to racial hatred under the Public Order Act 1986 were referred to the Crown Prosecution Service in each year since 1987.
§ The Attorney-General
The Crown Prosecution Service does not maintain records of files submitted to it by the police, or correspondence from members of the public, categorised by the type of offence alleged to have been committed. The information sought is therefore not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
