§ Ms. Walley
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment he has made of the relative accident rates for company cars and for privately owned cars and of the proportion of road accidents in which company cars are involved.
§ Mr. Kenneth Carlisle
Company-owned cars were involved in 17 per cent. of injury road accidents in 1991. An assessment of the relative accident involvement and casualty rates for company-owned cars is contained in the publication "Car and Driver: Injury Accident and Casualty Rates: Great Britain 1990", a copy of which is held in the House of Commons Library.
