To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many people were employed in the footwear and textile industries in each month since September 1990.

The number of employees in employment in the footwear and textile industries in Great Britain was as follows:

For Scotland and the regions of Scotland, the information requested is available only for full-time employees. For Great Britain, figures are also available for part-time employees and all—full-time and part-time employees.
