To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement on his decision to call in the application by Clwyd county council for planning permission to construct a bypass road for Flint.

The application raises issues of more than local importance and my right hon. Friend decided, therefore, to call it in for his decision. Arrangments are being made for an inspector to hold a public local inquiry and my right hon. Friend will arrive at his decision on the application as soon as possible after the inquiry has closed.
