§ Sir Trevor Skeet
To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science how much of the additional sums allocated recently for British science is to be spent defraying charges and subscription to meet the international obligations of the United Kingdom.
My right hon. Friend will announce his decisions on the overall allocation of the additional funding for science, announced on 1 November, at columns 605–6, after he has considered the advice of the Advisory Board for the Research Councils. In the particular case of the high energy particle physics laboratory at CERN, I refer my right hon. Friend to my right hon. Friend's reply of 9 November to my hon. Friend the Member for Pembroke (Mr. Bennett), at column 195.
