§ Mr. Winnick
To ask the Prime Minister if, in the relevant correspondence between the Defence Ministry and the relatives of the six wartime commandos murdered by the Nazis, the relatives were given all the information that was due to them over what had occurred.
§ The Prime Minister
It was the policy to pass on to next-of-kin all reliable information. Where there was conflicting information it was the normal practice, if possible, to resolve the conflict before writing to avoid the distress that a wrong account could cause. The more painful details were omitted unless there was pressure from the next-of-kin for a detailed account of what happened.
