§ Mr. Carter-Jones
asked the Prime Minister if she is satisfied with the co-ordination of policies on medical research funding.
§ The Prime Minister
Yes. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science makes a grant-in-aid to the Medical Research Council on the advice of the Advisory Board of Research Councils on which my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services is represented. In deciding how to apportion its funds, the Medical Research Council takes account of the views of the health departments that are represented in the membership of the council.
