§ Mr. Hancock
asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will finance, or contribute to financing, security measures for Portsmouth naval base, in the area accommodating the Royal Navy museum, HMS Victory and the Mary Rose, and enable it to be accessible to the general public at all times irrespective of the security status of the rest of the naval base; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Lee
My noble Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces is already discussing, with other interested parties, arrangements for facilitating public access to the part of the Portsmouth naval base containing the RN Museum, HMS Victory and the Mary Rose. Security is one of the elements being considered.
