§ Mr. Michael Brown
asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has as to the charges to individuals made by each local authority social services department in England for their home help services.
§ Mr. John Patten
Very few representations directly related to charges have been received by the Department over the last three months. These have been referred to the local authority providing the service, whose responsibility it is to set the charge and to reduce or waive it if the circumstances of the person concerned require this.
