§ Mr. Nicholas Winterton
asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the average cost for training a student taking the three-year course to qualify as a National Health Service registered chiropodist.
§ Mr. Brooke
The average cost to an educational institution is estimated to be of the order of £7,500 over the three years of the course. In some instances a proportion of this sum would be met by local health authorities. It does not include the costs of local authority discretionary awards to chiropody students, which are not recorded centrally.408W
