§ Mr. Younger
There are no comprehensive statistics on apprenticeships. A survey of the number of apprentices and other trainees in the manufacturing industries is carried out in March of each year, and the results published in the July or September issue of theEmployment Gazette, copies of which are to be found in the House Library. The survey results for Scotland for the past two years for which information is available are shown in the following table.
of myocardial infarcation. The following table shows the number of patients discharged from hospital after treatment for this condition. These figures must, however, be treated with caution. This condition is increasingly treated at home and the hospital data are inflated because a new discharge form is completed for every transfer, so that a patient who is transferred from a coronary care unit to an ordinary ward will be recorded twice.
