asked the Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts what information the Minister for the Arts sought on the amount the metropolitan counties spend on maintaining theatres for use by touring companies when considering the level of the Arts Council grant.

Enterprise Oil Ltd.: As sole shareholder I have power to make appointments to the board: one permanent appointment has been made and another will take effect on 1 March 1984.

Britoil plc: In the period 1 November 1982, to 26 May 1983, the previous Secretary of State had power to make appointments to the board: six appointments were made.

Offshore Industry Liaison Committee (OILCO): Bodies invited to attend OILCO are approved on my behalf, but they appoint their own representatives.

I am also consulted on appointments before they are made to the board of British Nuclear Fuels Ltd., in respect of which I am sole shareholder, and with respect to certain of the appointments to the board of the National Nuclear Corporation Ltd.
