§ Mr. Redmond
asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will set out the instructions his Department has given the National Coal Board with regard to selling off its subsidiary and ancillary undertakings; which such undertakings are earmarked for sale; and on which negotiations with potential buyers are currently under way.
§ Mr. Giles Shaw
In addition to its normal planned sale of land, vehicles and buildings, the board has been asked to raise £10 million in 1984–85 from the sale of activities unrelated to the board's mainstream activities. How those sales are achieved is a matter for the board.
