§ Mr. Tilley
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to add safeguards to the law relating to police powers of stop and search as recommended by Lord Scarman.
§ Mr. Mayhew
In his report on the Brixton disorders Lord Scarman expressed his agreement with the recommendations about powers of stop and search made by the Royal Commission on criminal procedure.
