§ Mr. Foulkes
asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether any of the 10 nuclear power stations announced on 18 December will be in Scotland; and, if so, what sites are envisaged for such stations.
§ Mr. Alexander Fletcher
I have been asked to reply.
The planning of new generating capacity in Scotland is in the first instance the responsibility of the Scottish electricity boards. The boards have submitted no proposals to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland for a further nuclear power station to follow the Torness development.
