§ Mr. Gwilym Roberts
asked the Secretary of State for Industry what study he has made of the NEDO report of December 1976 by the Industrial Electronics System Section of the Control and Automation Manufacturers outlining the current state of the industry and the obstacles to growth; what action he is taking to implement some of the proposals in the report; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Cryer
The comments and recommendations in the report produced by the Industrial Electronics Systems Section of the Control and Automation Manufacturers Association have been taken into account by the relevant NEDO sector working party to which it was referred. It has made a valuable contribution to the industrial strategy debates in this sector, and action is already proceeding on certain of the recommendations put forward.
