§ Mr. O'Halloran
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with the take-up of grants by housing co-operatives in the Greater London area; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Armstrong
During the current financial year the Housing Corporation has set aside for co-operative schemes up to 10 per cent, of the total allocation of 371W approvals in the Greater London area, and a number of other co-operatives, such as Pooles Park, Fairhazel and Ladybur, are being funded by local authorities. The rate of take up is still fairly slow but should be improved by the work of the Co-operative Housing Agency in providing advice and guidance.
