§ Mrs. Wise
asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether spare parts are being supplied by British Leyland to the Chilean Navy; and whether he will take steps to ensure that no supplies go to the Chilean Armed Forces while the Chilean Government continue with their policies of repression and torture.
§ Dr. Gilbert
The Government's policy on the supply of arms to Chile was set out in the statement made on 10th April 1974, by my right hon. Friend the then Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.—[Vol. 872, c.155.] I am not aware of any spare parts being 363W made by British Leyland which might be subject to the Government's embargo on arms sales to Chile.
