§ Mr. Carter-Jones
asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many children who have been educated at special schools have entered courses at colleges of further education, colleges of education, polytechnics and universities, respectively, in each of the last five years.
§ Mr. Prentice
This information is not available, but it is thought that recently something under 1,000 pupils per year have left special schools in England and Wales to enter further and higher education establishments. Many others have entered courses at other establishments specifically catering for the handicapped.303W
