§ Mr. Douglas
asked the Minister for Energy if his Department still accepts the estimates given in the International Management and Engineering Group's report for the United Kingdom industry's share of the offshore oil industry by the late 1970s.
§ Mr. David Howell
The estimates given in the IMEG Report of the United Kingdom's prospects in the offshore226W market for equipment and services were, of course, the professional opinion of the authors, and they were considered on this basis. In relation to the estimated involvement of British enterprise the broad recommendations were accepted as a helpful basis for planning. However, a study is in hand of the North Sea programme which may change some of the predictions in the report.
