§ 18. Sir J. Langford-Holt
asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, as the Armed Forces have no specific training in security matters, whether he will take immediate steps to replace the Army in Northern Ireland by trained security forces.
§ Mr. Merlyn Rees
Members of the Armed Forces who are sent to Northern Ireland receive special training beforehand for the tasks they are expected to undertake. The second part of the hon. Member's Question therefore does not apply.
