§ 18. Mr. David Steel
asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she will make special arrangements to protect consumers who live in low wage areas.
§ Mrs. Shirley Williams
Consumers in low wage areas will benefit from general measures to restrain price inflation and to protect the consumer; for example, by the introduction of subsidies and maximum prices for key foods. Indeed, it is people earning low wages who will particularly benefit from these measures.
