§ Mr. Kinnock
asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what facilities exist in schools for the teaching of first-aid by qualified teachers, representatives of voluntary societies or members of the medical profession.274W
§ Mr. van Straubenzee
The curriculum of schools is a matter for the school authorities and head teachers, and the Department does not collect information about the facilities provided. It has, however, issued pamphlets on "Safety at School" and "Health Education", both of which encourage secondary schools 275W to provide training in first-aid suitable to the ages of the pupils.
