§ 86. Mr. Iremonger
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what progress has been made in attempts to persuade Denmark to cease taking salmon to the detriment of the rivers of the United Kingdom and Northern Europe.
§ Mr. Anthony Royle
As a member of the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission and the International Commission for the North-West Atlantic Fisheries, Denmark has accepted measures 19W approved by the two Commissions last summer to restrict fishing for salmon. These measures will be in force for the current year. Copies of the resolutions containing the measures were placed in the Library on 21st July, 1970.
