asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the Government's policy in regard to the care of war graves, by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, who are responsible for more than one million war graves in 23,714 cemeteries and for memorials to thousands of dead whose graves are unknown.

I would refer the hon. Member to the Prime Minister's reply of 11th May, 1967, to the hon. Members for Dorset, North (Sir Richard Glyn) and Rother Valley (Mr. David Griffiths) on the occasion of the Commission's completion of 50 years work of commemorating the Commonwealth dead of the two world wars.
It continues to be the policy of the United Kingdom Government to support 447W the devoted and humanitarian work done by the Commission.—[Vol. 746, c. 1700–2.]
