§ 61. Mr. Tilney
asked the Postmaster-General whether he will consider the use of cellophane wrapping when large numbers of letters have to be forwarded to the same address, thereby obviating the bending or tearing of letters and the use of string.
§ Mr. Joseph Slater
We are experimenting with various methods, including plastic wrapping machines, for bundling letters in the post. We are aiming to reduce the kind of damage that is occa-138W sionally caused to letters by the use of string but it is too early to say what the outcome of the experiments is likely to be.
