VISCOUNT STANSGATE

asked Her Majesty's Government whether security information concerning the opinions and activities of British subjects is officially supplied to any agency of the American Government and/or Congress; and, if so, what conditions are imposed on its use.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT KILMUIR)

There are standing arrangements whereby information about the activities of British subjects is supplied to friendly countries where there is a common defence interest. These arrangements are reciprocal and have frequently proved advantageous to us. Confidential information is passed and treated confidentially.
