asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what British and Allied forces have been, and are now, engaged in clearing the Suez Canal.88W
Seven salvage vessels of various kinds, ten salvage pontoons, with the necessary supporting organisation are now at work at Port Said.
§ 84. Mr. Biggs-Davison
asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what progress has been made with the clearing of the Suez Canal.
One wreck has already been lifted clear of the proposed channel and the clearance forces are at present concentrating on making other wrecks ready for lifting. Surveys are being made of further wrecks. On shore the workshops of the Suez Canal Company are being made serviceable.
