§ 3. Mr. Henderson Stewart
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, in view of the shortage of women teachers of physical education and the small number of applicants for the emergency training 132W courses, he will consider the introduction of a full course of training at Wollman Hall Training College, Aberdeen, for some of the 120 applicants for the three year courses of whom less than 40 can be accommodated at Dunfermline College of Physical Education.
§ Mr. Westwood
I understand that this matter, in all its aspects, is receiving the attention of the National Committee for the Training of Teachers, the body responsible for the supply and training of teachers in Scotland. If the Committee decide to recommend the temporary establishment of a full course of training for women teachers of physical education at Aberdeen, I shall be ready to consider their recommendation without delay.
