§ 34. Mr. Touche
asked the Minister of Supply when a decision is likely to be reached regarding the appeal made by his Department to the Distribution of Industry Panel for permission for the Long Eaton Cable Company, Limited, to extend their factory at Dorking to make electric cables urgently required by Government Departments; and the reason for the delay of many months in dealing with this matter.
The application was ejected on 31st August last, and the company was advised to consider finding an alternative site in an easier labour area. A meeting was held with the firm on 21st February and a final decision will be taken within the next ten days.
