asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food what proportion of the wheat germ separated from the grain in milling has been allocated, in accordance with confidential instruction CMC 191 (30/4/42), during the past three months to proprietary products, whether foods or medicines, and to be at the disposal of the millers in the ordinary way of trade, respectively?

During the last three months more than 99 per cent. of the output of germ not retained in flour has been used in proprietary products, either foods or medicines. Less than 1 per cent., which for reasons of quality was not' acceptable for these purposes, has been used in other ways.
