§ Mr. Sorensen
asked the President of the Board of Education whether, in his consideration of proposals for the revision and expansion of education, he has included the use or possession of boarding schools and country mansions for the temporary use of elementary and secondary schools; and whether the Board is preparing comprehensive plans for the post-war rebuilding both of schools damaged or destroyed by enemy action and of those not meeting a desirable standard of efficiency and suitability?
§ Mr. Butler
The use for educational purposes of surplus residential accommodation which may be available after the war is being considered by my Department. Detailed plans for the rebuilding of schools damaged or destroyed by enemy action and the replacement of unsuitable school accommodation will fall to be considered in the light of any decisions that may be reached on the subject of educational reforms.
