§ Captain Profumo
asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that already, as a result of the redistribution of the population, laundries in many areas are faced with a difficult problem; and whether he is satisfied that the lack of normal facilities is not endangering the health of the people in these areas, and assuming the probability of further large-scale enemy bombing, has he taken steps to ensure prevention of disease due to further dislocation in the laundry industry?
§ Mr. E. Brown
I am aware of the problem to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers. The safeguarding of the public health under war-time conditions is the subject of constant attention from all points of view, and consultations are at present taking place Between the several Departments concerned with a view to assuring that an adequate laundry service is maintained in all eventualities.
