§ Sir J. Mellor
asked the Postmaster-General whether subscribers, who through absence overseas on military duty or through other reasonable cause, have failed to give notice in writing within one month after the commencement of the Post Office and Telegraph Act, 1940, to determine their telephone contracts, will, on their request, be granted some extension of time for the exercise of the option to determine?
§ Captain Waterhouse
My hon. Friend may rest assured that every consideration will be given to genuine cases in which the subscriber gives reasonable 1029W cause, other than mere ignorance of the law, for his failure to take advantage of the Act within the specified period.
