§ Mr. Mander
asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education whether he will state the position of university students who have now reached the age of 20, but have not been regis- 1969W tered under the Militia Act owing to the fact that their birthdays came after the 1st June, 1939; whether they will be permitted to complete their final year in an honours course this October; and what rights of appeal they have in the matter?
§ Mr. E. Brown:
I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 28th September to the hon. Member for Ormskirk (Sir T. Rosbotham), a copy of which I am sending him. The Proclamation issued on 1st October has added to those liable to be called up undergraduates who had reached the age of 20 and had not reached the age of 22 on that date. Undergraduates so liable will have the opportunity of applying for postponement of their liability on the ground of exceptional hardship when called for medical examination.
