§ Mr. Joel
asked the President of the Board of Trade whether any representations have been received from the United States Government with regard to the provisions of the Cinematograph Films Act and the Anglo-American Trade Agreement; and whether, in connection with the latter, any regard is to be had to the concessions which have been made to the American film industry and to the fact that the Act provides a guarantee that approximately three-quarters of the market for films in Great Britain will be available for foreign films during the next 10 years?
§ Captain Wallace
I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given yesterday to my hon. Friend the Member for Moss Side (Mr. W. R. Duckworth). The Cinematograph Films Act does not give any guarantee of a minimum market for foreign films.
