§ Mr. THORNE
asked the Minister of Transport if he can give any information relative to the Chatham, Maidstone and District Motor Service Company, who allowed one of their drivers to drive one of their service vehicles in excess of the working hours allowed under the regulations of the Road Transport Act; what action was taken; and how many previous convictions up to the nearest available date have been recorded under the Act?2474W
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHA
I understand from a newspaper report that last week the company were convicted of an offence under Section 19 of the Road Traffic Act, 1930, and were fined £10. I regret that I cannot give the number of previous convictions under the Act, but I am informed that this was the company's first conviction under Section 19.
