§ Mr. RHYS DAVIES
asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the growing number of visitors coming by char-a-bane and otherwise during the summer months from the Devonshire holiday resorts to the vicinity of Dartmoor with the object of 719W seeing convicts at work in and around Princetown; and, if so, will he take steps to prevent such an exhibition?
§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS
Yes, Sir. There is a public road which goes through the prison land, and sightseers by loitering on this road have been able to catch sight of parties of convicts going to or from their work. Arrangements are being made which will in future reduce to a minimum the possibilities of observation, and I hope that next summer these arrangements will frustrate this ill-mannered curiosity.
