§ Mr. TILLETT
asked the President of the Board of Trade, with regard to the amusement section of the British Empire Exhibition, whether he has knowledge of the amount of capital that has been called up in the company which has now been formed for this purpose; if the two gentlemen to whom the concession was granted are on the board of the company; if the amount of capital subscribed is sufficient 1501W to guarantee the success of the section; and is he aware that, whilst 30 per cent. of the gross takings are to be given to the exhibition, the concessionaires of the amusement company are demanding such high rates as 65 per cent. to 70 per cent. of the gross takings from sub-concessionaires, and that, owing to such high rates, some of the premier showmen in this country have refused to become sub-concessionaires?
§ Lieut.-Colonel BUCKLEY
I under-stand that the authorities of the British Empire Exhibition are collecting the information required by the hon. Member, and will communicate it to him.
