§ Viscount Hanworth
My Lords, two hours ago, the best estimate I had for my Unstarred Question was 10 o'clock, and I thought it would be kindly to your Lordships that I should withdraw it, which is what I have done with agreement from the only other two speakers who put their names down. My Unstarred Question has now been put down for Thursday of next week, when I am told that the House does not have very much business. I very much hope that those who are interested in pensions and the possible taxation of pensions will find it possible to speak.
It is, of course, the eleventh hour because, no doubt, the Government have made up their minds on what they want to do. But I believe that a flexible Government will always be willing to hear—
§ Lord Shackleton
My Lords, the noble Viscount was entirely out of order in making a statement at this moment.
§ House adjourned at two minutes past nine o'clock.
