§ House in Committee (according to Order.)
§ [The Earl of ONSLOW in the Chair.]
§ Clause 1:—
§ LORD BALFOUR OF BURLEIGH said the only Amendment to this Bill was the one standing in his name, viz., to add the following subsection:—"A registrar shall at any reasonable time allow searches to be made in such record of statutory declarations, and shall upon demand give a copy under his hand of any entry therein on payment of a fee of 6d. for each search and 3d. for each copy." He understood that the noble Lord in charge of the Bill was prepared to accept the Amendment with a slight verbal alteration to bring it into conformity with Section 15 of the Act of 1863; and, though the effect of this would be to charge 6d. more for a search and 3d. more for a certificate than he proposed, he would accept the alteration and move his Amendment in that form.
In page 2, line 2, after the word 'post,' to insert the following new subsection: (3) A
registrar shall at any reasonable time allow searches to be made in such record of statutory declarations, and shall upon demand give a copy under his hand of any entry therein on payment of the fee for a search and a certificate respectively provided by Section 15 of the Vaccination (Scotland) Act, 1863.'"—(Lord Balfour of Burleigh.)
§ Remaining clause agreed to. Standing Committee negatived. The Report of the Amendment to be received to-morrow; and Bill to be printed as amended. [No. 161.]
