§ Lords Amendment: No. 47, in page 30, line 29, leave out from "means" to "adopted" in line 31.
§ Mr. Deputy Speaker
With this Amendment we are to debate Lords Amendment No. 48, in page 30, line 32, at end insert:or by any adoption specified as an overseas adoption by order of the Secretary of State under section 4 of the Adoption Act 1968;").
§ Mr. Carlisle
I notice that in moving these Amendments in another place my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor described them as rather dull little Amendments. That is an accurate description. They are drafting Amendments to take account of the possibility that Section 4 of the Adoption Act, 1968 might be brought in by a commencement order before the Bill comes into effect.
