§ Mr. Webster
On a point of order. You will be aware, Mr. Speaker, that the Welsh Shipping Agency Bill [Lords] has been committed to a Select Committee, which is still considering it. The intention of the Bill is to allow the building of a jetty across the Severn Estuary. You will also know that the objection to the building of that jetty is that it will alter the régime of the Severn Estuary.
Since the Bill was committed to the Select Committee, expert evidence has been taken and a test rig, designed to take trial borings for the building of the jetty, collapsed last evening. Is it possible for you to rule that the Committee should not report until it has re-examined the evidence in the light of this event?
§ Mr. Speaker
It is quite improper to discuss it now. It does not arise as a point of order. As the matter is before a Select Committee, we cannot discuss it now.
