§ 34. Mr. Janner
asked the Postmaster-General, in the light of the recent visit of the Assistant Postmaster-General, in company with the hon. Member for Leicester, North-West, to Mowmacre Hill, Leicester, and their discussion of the difficulties encountered by old-age pensioners and persons drawing family allowances arising from the lack of suitable post office facilities there, whether he will now give permission for another sub-post office to be opened.
§ Mr. Janner
I gratefully acknowledge the walk which the hon. Lady took with me on Mowmacre Hill, but I would ask her to realise that the conclusions she formed on that occasion are not acceptable to the residents there. I appreciate her anxiety about the possibility of a case of mistaken identity. Was that really her reason for not pushing the twins up the hill, or was it because she realised that it would convince her that there is a case for a sub-post office in the constituency?
